Shredding Days

GSB Customers: Protect your identity and safely dispose of confidential records.

For years, Glenview State Bank has been proud to offer shred days. Our shred events allow customers to securely dispose of paper documents, cancelled checks, files and other papers that are no longer required for personal records.

Paper is shredded on site, and participants do not need to park or leave their car. Our shred crew will do all the heavy lifting!

GSB customers may bring up to 2 boxes or 4 shopping bags of paper documents. Materials should be placed in paper bags (not plastic) or boxes/containers that will be returned to the owner.

Shred days are held at our Chestnut Branch in Glenview at 2222 Chestnut Avenue

Hours of the events are from 9 am until Noon.

Our 2018 Dates

  • Saturday May 19, 2018 (21,840 lbs of paper shredded and recycled)
  • Saturday July 21, 2018
  • Saturday September 29, 2018

  • Saturday June 23, 2018 in Mt. Prospect (3,494 lbs of paper shredded and recycled)

Shred Days are customer events.

If you are not a bank customer, the Northfield Township offers shredding throughout the year. Their schedule of events can be viewed at this link.

The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) also provides a list of both document and electronic destruction events on their site.

Weather Information:

In the event of inclement weather, our Shred Crew will continue to provide service as long as it is safe to do so. If there is any safety threat (lightning, etc.), we reserve the right to temporarily suspend shred service or in extreme situations, cancel the event.

Proper destruction of confidential information is an important step in preventing identity theft, the fastest growing crime today.
