World’s Best Banks by Forbes | 2024

Busey is honored to be named among the World’s Best Banks and America’s Best Banks by Forbes. This is the first time Busey has been named among the World’s Best Banks and the third consecutive year the organization has received the America’s Best Banks honor.

On the World’s Best Banks list, Busey was ranked 63 out of 68 U.S. banks. Forbes’ full list includes 403 banks around the globe. For the America’s Best Banks list, the organization ranked 40th overall and was the second-ranked bank headquartered in Illinois. In all, six Illinois banks were included on this year’s list.

To produce its fifth annual world ranking, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista, which surveyed more than 49,000 individuals across 33 countries in 17 different languages. Participants were asked to evaluate banks where they currently have a checking or savings account, where they’ve had an account within the past three years, or that they knew through family or friends. Any bank offering a checking or savings account was eligible; United States credit unions were not. Respondents relayed their overall satisfaction with each bank, as well as whether they would recommend it to others, and then rated each on five criteria: trustworthiness; terms and conditions (such as fees and rates); customer service (wait times and helpfulness of employees); digital services (ease of using the website and app); and quality of financial advice.

Forbes’ 15th annual America’s Best Banks list looks at 10 metrics measuring growth, credit quality and profitability for the 2023 calendar year, as well as stock performance in the 12 months through March 18, 2024, to rank the 100 largest (by assets) publicly traded banks and thrifts from best to worst. While S&P provides the data, the rankings are done by Forbes.

Busey is also honored to be recognized in Illinois as a Best Place to Work, in Florida among the Best Companies to Work For and in Indiana as a Best Place to Work. In addition, Busey was recognized as a Best Banks to Work For in the U.S. by American Banker and Busey Wealth Management has been named among Pensions & Investment’s Best Places to Work in Money Management.
